I have some exciting news -- I've purchased an old house in downtown Bentonville that will become my photography studio! The house was built in the 40's and from the looks of it, I don't think it's been cleaned since around that time! My husband is a general contractor so he sees the "vision" of what this little house will become. I'm not quite as visionary... but, I do see the great potential for my studio in this new location.
I will continue to work on-location for the majority of my work, because I am, and always will be, a huge fan of natural light and natural scenery. However, this new studio will offer me some space for my office and a private location for clients wishing to have portraits taken indoors.
Now, for the fun part...here are some of the before photos and some of the photos I took yesterday during our "demolition." I kept picturing scenes from "Extreme Home Makeover" and laughing to myself. This was really hard work and we have a lot of work in store for us before this space is in shape for me to use. I will keep you all posted with the progress!
Exterior...keep in mind, there is a lot of work to do!
This will be the room for portraits...
An old chest we found with letters that the previous owner wrote while serving during World War 2. This was a peak into the life of this man that lived in this home - so fascinating!
The Kitchen...
Can you tell where the pictures were hung??
Post-destruction...
